In the Spring of 2006, the Tennessee Arts Commission began a two year planning process to assess the work of the agency over the past 40 years, and to lay the ground work for the years ahead.  Working together, a unique methodology was put in place to gather information for the creation of a new strategic plan.  Rather than holding the usual public meetings, an extensive interactive listening process was launched that resulted in a dynamic plan with solid goals and unlimited possibilities.  Talk To Me, Tennessee…A Statewide Conversation About The Arts was selected for the name of the plan, and also serves as the theme of the Commission’s statewide gathering scheduled for May 12-14 at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs Hotel and Conference Center in Franklin, TN.
